Practical woodland management
With an emphasis on broadleaved woodlands, coppicing and coppice restoration, thinning and respacing, and essential safety works (windblown trees, ash dieback). We also lay hedges.

Woodland creation
We carry out tree and hedge planting, and have experience in planting up large sites with native broadleaves. We can help with planning and project manage the practical stage, ordering plants and sundries, or just turn up with our spades and get stuck in.

Biochar
We produce fine grade charcoal (biochar) from locally harvested wood. Biochar can be applied as a soil amendment with positive effects on crops and garden plants. Biochar also locks up carbon, as it remains stable in soil for hundreds to thousands of years.

We run a programme of short courses for aspiring woodland managers, coppicers and those who just want to find out more. We also offer a paid training programme for those wishing to enter a career in woodland management.

As well as woodland management courses, we run demonstrations and awareness events - and the odd family friendly craft session.
Coppice products
Whether you are hedge layer, gardener, forest school leader or allotment holder, we have your needs for sticks covered. We supply beanpoles, pea sticks, hedging stakes, binders, plant canes, and faggots for waterways.

We sustainably harvest a range of native hardwoods including ash, birch, hazel, oak, cherry and willow, which we can supply to meet your craft needs.

Charcoal
Locally produced charcoal and pizza oven fuel from sustainably managed woodlands. Free from additives, slave labour and tropical deforestation, and with far fewer timber miles than the imported stuff.

We can also supply sustainably harvested non-timber forest products such as ivy, clematis (old man's beard), branches and twigs, leaves etc for florists, set props, shop displays or whatever you need it for.
